Sarah van Lamsweerde (Brussels, 1971) creates performances, installations and publications that question the way we look at art and reality. Experimenting with extracurricular methods (oral traditions, unfamiliar languages, underprivileged senses) is central in her often collaborative working processes. She graduated from Dasarts in Amsterdam with a master’s degree in artistic research and performance (MA). Her work has been presented internationally in theatre as well as visual art contexts.
She is one of the founders of Tre Tigri, an undisciplined artists’ association for individual and collective projects. Alongside her own work, she contributes to practices and platforms such as Performing Objects (ErfS, Brussels), BAU Dance & Performance (Amsterdam)and IM Company (Paris). She lives in Brussels and Amsterdam.
Tre Tigri is a loose association of artists: Alex Zakkas, Esther Mugambi, Janneke Raaphorst and Sarah van Lamsweerde.
Through this portal you can discover the websites and works of each associate member.
Although each artist works in between disciplines, and this ‘undisciplined’ approach is what connects them, the field of performance is where their paths often meet.
Mugambi, Raaphorst, van Lamsweerde and Zakkas are linked by living in the city of Amsterdam, from where they work across geographical and artistic borders.
Tre Tigri is part of a larger fauna of artists and friends, notably Bojana Mladenović and Norberto Llopis Segarra who were part of the initial founding group of Tre Tigri.
